Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue Foundation Review

Sigma Beauty 3DHD Max Kabuki brush
Sigma Beauty 3DHD Max Kabuki brush- I love this brush so much! It is great for applying foundation.
I am not wearing any foundation in this picture. I have on eye makeup and moisturizer but no primer or anything else on my face. I deal with dry skin, dark circles, fine lines around my eyes and a lot of redness on my cheeks (some days it looks worse than others). This picture also has no filter.
I also have no primer or foundation in this picture, only moisturizer.

Now that you are good and tired of looking at my face, lets talk about the Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue foundation ( I shared so many pictures, because I wanted to show the foundation in the natural light and the artificial light of my bathroom. I have used the Bare Minerals powder foundation for years and love it! I have also used several other makeup and skin care products from this line so naturally when I saw this hydrating foundation stick I had to try it!

I have tried some foundation sticks in the past and was never too impressed. I have mentioned before, but I have dry, dull skin and fine lines around my eyes. I also struggle with dark circles under my eyes. Some foundation sticks can be really drying and cakey and may seem scary for someone with dry skin. However, this one is definitely hydrating! I honestly could not believe how my skin felt and looked after using this product. It definitely gives off a dewy finish, so if you are looking for a matte finish, this isn’t for you. I don’t have highlighter on these photos, but it looks like I do just from using the foundation.

This foundation is a water based formula, with SPF 25 (which is great!). It is a medium coverage foundation and I found that it covered all of my redness and blemishes with no problem. It is also buildable if you want more full coverage. It is made with 30% mineral water, and once you apply, you can really tell this is true. The Bare Minerals website describes this as providing the feel of a tinted moisturizer with the coverage of a foundation. It comes in 18 different shades and retails for $32. It also won an Allure best of beauty award in 2019

My overall impression: I love this foundation! Since I have dry skin, I loved the hydration this provided. I also loved the dewy finish. It is very convenient and easy to use. The stick would be great to throw in your bag for touchups throughout out the day. It provided great coverage, but still looked very natural. I would recommend applying this with a foundation brush. I also tried with a damp sponge and it did not apply as easily.

The only negative I can say about this product is that it doesn’t last all day. After wearing this for several hours, I definitely needed to reapply. If you have oily skin, I would stay far away from this product. If it can make my dull skin shine, I can’t imagine what it would do to someone with oily skin. If you are on the market for a new foundation and have dry skin, I think this is a great option!
